Children are our future, and when it comes to their safety, we all have a duty to protect them

Whether you’re a small primary school with 100 students and staff, or a large university with thousands of people visiting your campus every day, built-in Fire Protection is fundamental to ensure that your property is protected and students and staff experience a safe and secure environment.

BBC Fire & Security has developed comprehensive and cost effective Fire Life Safety Solutions to support the Education sector in fulfilling their duty of care.

Solutions

Fire Detection & Alarm Systems

A functioning Fire Alarm is the first line of defence against a fire. Alerting students, visitors and staff of a fire gives them time to get out safely, minimising injury and loss of life.

Emergency Voice Alarms

For people with mobility needs, EVC (Emergency Voice Communication) Systems or Disabled Refuge Systems provide two-way communication during the evacuation of a building in a fire.

Disabled WC Alarm Systems

All disabled toilet cubicles should be fitted with a BS8300:2009 compliant Disabled WC Alarm System allowing distressed people to raise an alarm in the event of an emergency.

Fire Suppression Systems

Many schools have science laboratories with hazardous chemicals and bunsen burners in use which may need a Fire Suppression System to effectively extinguish a fire.

Kitchen Fire Suppression Systems

School cafeterias often have industrial-style appliances; large ovens, fridges and fryers. A Kitchen Fire Suppression System can quickly detect and suppress a fire using advanced extinguishing agents.

Aspirating Systems

Aspirating Systems provide the earliest detection possible of a fire or gas incident allowing optimal time to evaluate the risk, remediate and avoid evacuation of students and damage or loss.

Emergency Lighting

Emergency Lighting plays a vital role in supporting proactive evacuation to prevent panic and allow staff and pupils safe passage out of the building.

Fire Risk Assessment

A Fire Risk Assessment will ensure that your fire safety procedures, fire prevention measures, and fire precautions (plans, systems
and equipment) are all in place and working properly.

Maintenance

Success delivering services to the Education Sector hinges on forward planning of Preventative Maintenance visits to ensure that they do not interrupt scheduled classes, lectures and seminars.

Security

Schools are a common target for arsonists. Sufficient security measures to help prevent arson include an Intruder Alarm connected to a Call Monitoring Centre, CCTV Cameras, Access Control.
