Client: Bedford Academy
Contract Value: £140,000
The new Bedford Academy was built in place of the former John Bunyan school building in September 2012, following the attainment of over £27 million in funding.
The academy’s new build houses a spectacular variety of facilities, offering specialisation in science and technology.
In competitive tender, BBC Fire & Security was selected to design, supply and install the academy’s fire detection and alarm systems.
The academy required over 400 automatic and manual fire detectors with associated visual and audible warning devices. Air Sampling Smoke Detection Systems were also installed to protect the Glazed Atria.
