BBC Fire & Security is pleased to announce that we are now BM TRADA Q-Mark Certified for the Maintenance of Fire Doors (STD058), having successfully passed and completed scheme specific training and passed an examination in recent months.

The UKAS accredited BM TRADA certification is a prestigious third-party fire services certification, for the manufacture, installation and maintenance services for Fire Doors and Fire Stopping.

Within BM TRADA, the innovative ‘Q-Mark’ system is used as a benchmark for fire door standards and has been designed to provide reassurance to specifiers, contractors and end users that the product they have chosen has been maintained correctly and that it should perform as intended.

The Fire Door Maintenance Scheme allows us to confidently advise customers on possible repair works to fire doors to save on the costs involved with full replacements; from a one off repair and advice to a full fire door maintenance programme for a building.

David Moore, Managing Director at BBC Fire & Security commented:

BM TRADA is an independent verification of our competence to undertake these projects for our customers. Being BM TRADA certified means that we now have an Approved Installer, Andi Simmons, within the business who has the required credentials to enable 20 operatives to be trained in their respective disciplines. We are also able to self-certify any works completed. The scheme ensures on-going competence with six-monthly audits of works completed to ensure we are fully compliant with Q-Mark guidelines and performing to a consistently high level.
