BBC Fire Protection raises £100 for Macmillan
On 25th September, BBC Fire Protection took part in Macmillan’s biggest cancer charity fundraising event “World’s Biggest Coffee Morning”.
People all over the country host their own coffee mornings with donations going to Macmillan.
Macmillan’s goal is to make sure no one faces cancer alone. They provide medical, emotional, practical and financial support, as well as campaigning for better cancer care.
We had a fabulous day, raising money for this great cause. Pia and Sophie organised a bake sale, which saw a variety of homemade “baked” and “faked” goodies, including Maggie’s marvellous Madeira cake, the best brownies you’ve ever tasted from Mr and Mrs Burton and cupcakes and cookies galore.
Alongside this, we had fun with the “Spot the Cake” sweepstake and just generally all coming together as a team for this wonderful cause. We raised a whopping £116 in total!
Well done and a big thank you to everyone at BBC Fire for your help in donating your time, cakes and money in aid of this cancer charity!
