Dedicated Company Engineering Manager retires after 33 years service

Peter Willetts celebrates 33 years of service as he retires from BBC Fire Protection

There was a huge turn out at BBC Fire Protection on Thursday as the company said thank you and farewell to their Company Engineering Manager. Peter Willetts joined BBC Fire Protection in May 1983 while the company was still in its infancy and dedicated a tremendous 33 years of his life to the business.

Peter shared some of his memories of what it was like to be on the road in the early years,

"There was a comradery shared in what were not always ideal conditions," he said, "All-in-all I was happy to be a part of a new enterprise and I enjoyed every minute....well nearly."

Nick Copeman, Operations Director, made reference to the technical challenges and opportunities that Peter has assisted with along the way,

"Peter has been as much responsible for the Company's current DNA as a number of other long serving members of staff."

Nick thanked Peter for his thirty-three years of service and for the part he played in the company's development over the years. On behalf of the company, Nick presented Peter with a parting retirement gift as a final thank you for his dedication to BBC Fire Protection.
